Two ‘militants’ arrested in Swat raids

MINGORA: The counterterrorism department, Swat, on Sunday arrested two suspected militants during separate raids here.

According to sources, the raids were conducted at three different areas of the district, where two suspected militants identified as Hazrat Jamal and Saad Ullah were taken into custody. They said that both were wanted to Matta police in different terrorist activities.

The sources that the police also arrested a person, Sher Rahman, who was wanted to Rahimabad police in a theft case.

Meanwhile, an 80-year-old woman on Sunday appealed to the authorities to provide her justice as the rival family had got her two sons and a daughter-in-law jailed for a crime they had not committed.

Talking to mediapersons at Saidu Sharif here, Bakht Meena accused the rival family and some influential people of Dardyal area of Kabal of implicating her sons and daughter-in-law in a fabricated case. She alleged that the rivals, including Mohammad Jan, Amjad and Khaista Bacha, were threatening her with dire consequences.
