Parents of APS victims meet governor

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan said on Friday that the tragedy of Army Public School, Peshawar, had united the nation against menace of terrorism.

The death of students of APS is an extraordinary incident of our national history, which has moved the entire nation, he said, while talking to a delegation of Shuhada Ghazi Forum, a representative body of the parents of the APS victims, who called on the governor here. The governor said that the fact that the whole nation had united against the perpetrators of the heinous crime symbolised the grief and sorrow felt for the near and dear ones of the deceased children, and its commitment to take the war against terrorism to its logical end.

The delegation comprised of Dr Farooq Shah, Ajoon Khan, Qaisar Ali, Ibrar Khan, Nawaz Khan Umerkhel, Majid Yousaf and Mian Attiq ur Rehman. Governor Mehtab Khan said that the perpetrators of the incident were the enemies of the nation and had to be eliminated at all costs.

On the occasion, the forum’s president Abid Raza Bangash said: “Beyond doubt there can never be any substitute to our innocent departed souls, but we have accepted this reality as a will of the Almighty. We feel hurt because of the tragic incident but our earnest desire is that the entire nation should realise the gravity of the challenging circumstances and further strengthen unity to wipe out terrorism.”—APP
