Schools to get foolproof security

PESHAWAR: A high-level meeting on Friday decided to provide foolproof security to educational institutions.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education and Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani chaired the meeting, which was also attended by provincial ministers, administrative secretaries of various departments, commissioner Peshawar and officers of various law enforcement agencies, according to a handout.

The meeting put the educational institutions into low, medium and high categories in terms of security threats. It was also informed that Rs1 billion had been allocated for security of schools.

The participants were informed that the PTI would hold a condolence reference on the occasion of chehlum of those died in the Peshawar school tragedy.

The meeting directed the secretaries of elementary & secondary education and higher education departments to visit the Army Public School to announce assistance that was demanded when the PTI chief Imran Khan had visited the APS.
