Police give security tips to students

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police on Monday gave security tips to the students of 51 educational institutions of the capital.

Inspector General of Police, Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan visited Beacon House School F-8/4 and Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/2 where he delivered lectures.

AIG (Operations) Dr Sultan Azam Temuri delivered lecture at F-8 College and Senior Superintendent of Police Mirvais Niaz at Islamabad College for Boys in Sector G-6/3.

The IGP said that Islamabad police had constituted special teams headed by officers of DSP and Inspector rank who would visit educational institutions within Islamabad and check loophole in their security arrangements.

He said the Islamabad police had introduced emergency alert system for the security of schools.

He said the Islamabad police had constituted security and vigilance committees in various residential areas of the city to effectively combat crime.

He said an officer of Assistant Sub Inspector rank would coordinate with the members of the committees.

The IG said young persons would be encouraged to join the vigilance committees.

AIG Dr Temuri while addressing the student asked them to keep an eye on suspicious activities and strangers around them.

He also asked them to avoid gathering outside their schools and immediately leave for their home after school closure.

He also gave a police website address to the students through which they could share information with the police.
