Schools asked to implement security guidelines

PESHAWAR: Management of private schools and colleges has been directed to ensure implementation of the security guidelines before end of winter vacations to avoid any untoward incident.

The directive was issued at a meeting attended by the management of private schools, education department officials and police here on Wednesday. Secretary education, all district education officers and representatives of private schools and colleges were in attendance.

The participants were briefed by the AIG Operations Mohammad Asif about the security guidelines issued by the operations branch of the provincial police. He urged management of the private schools to ensure the implementation of the guidelines before end of the winter vacations so to avoid any untoward incident.

The participants were also briefed about the salient features and benefits of the ‘One-Click’ SOS alert service that had been recently launched by the KP police for enhancing security at the educational institutions across the province. The participants were given live demonstration of the system and were briefed about its working and registration process.

Speaking on the occasion, the additional IGP headquarters said that the police department was taking every possible measure to ensure security of citizens. He added that security awareness

workshops would also be arranged for other vulnerable and sensitive establishments.
