Dr Soomro’s son vows to contest against Bilawal

BADIN: Vowing to challenge Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in the next elections on a Larkana seat, a Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) provincial leader Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro on Tuesday severely criticised the Sindh government and its policies.

Speaking at a press conference at Jamia Qasmia in Tando Bago, Maulana Soomro described Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah as a ‘stooge’ of PPP co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari, and said the CM was without any power. He alleged that every department was infested with rampant corruption.

The JUI-F leader appreciated the arrest of five suspects in the assassination case of his father, Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, who was the party’s Sindh secretary general, and said that mentors of his assassins were also threatening him (Rashid Soomro).

He said he and all his family members and supporters were ready to lay down their lives for the cause of Sindh.

Later, Maulana Soomro addressed party workers in Talhar and Matli towns.
