Those targeting schools are enemies of Islam: JUI-F

TIMERGARA: Deputy chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Maulana Attaur Rehman has said that those targeting schoolchildren, mosques, funerals, markets and religious leaders are the enemies of Islam and Pakistan.

Talking to mediapersons at Ouch here on Saturday, he said that Islam did not permit anyone to kill innocent people and non-combatants. Other JUI-F leaders, including Hafiz Akhtar Ali, were also present on the occasion.

Mr Rehman said that anti-Pakistan agencies like Blackwater had been active in the region to terrorise people. He said that the enemies wanted to take advantage of internal weaknesses of Pakistan to destabilise it. He said that the negative propaganda against religious seminaries was part of the western agenda.

He urged the government and national institutions to take every step cautiously so that enemies of Pakistan could not succeed in their motives. He said that several JUI-F leaders had been killed so far while the party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was attacked three times.

PRESS CLUB POLLS: Hanifullah was elected president and Abdullah Madani general secretary of Timergara Press Club.

Civil society representatives Akbar Khan and Ibrash Pasha supervised the election. Other office-bearers include Akbar Saeed vice-president, Habib Mohammad Khattak joint secretary, Imranullah Siddique finance secretary and Ali Shah office secretary. Ziaur Rahim was elected chairman of the executive council and Ismail Anjum vice-chairman, while the members include Kabir Rughani, Fazal Manan and Mohammad Ishaq.

SUBJECT SPECIALISTS: The Subject Specialists Association, Lower Dir, on Saturday demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to include the cadre in the proposed time scale formula.

The demand was made during a meeting held here with the association’s president Gohar Ali in the chair. Speakers at the meeting said that subject specialists had been teaching to students of first and second year classes and they should be considered for the post of assistant professor. They demanded of the government to grant them one increment on passing M.Ed examination. They also vowed to resist merger of Chakdara board with any other educational board.
