KALAYA: Twenty suspected militants were killed and 18 others injured in clashes with security forces in Orakzai tribal region late on Friday night.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the fighting took place in Sherin Dara and Khazana Kandao areas adjacent to Khyber Agency.

It said troops attacked a large assembly of suspected terrorists in one of the clashes. Four soldiers suffered injuries, it added.

Bodies of nine suspects were brought to the office compound of political agent in Hangu on Saturday.

Officials said that militants left behind bodies of nine accomplices, adding that two wounded terrorists had been captured.
