Interfaith harmony need of the hour

ISLAMABAD: Interfaith harmony is need of the hour and Islam promotes respect for all religions.

This was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Malik Matloob Ahmed while addressing a gift distribution ceremony at ST. Thomas Church in Sector G-7/2.

The SSP traffic appreciated the Revolutionary Approach of Youth to Serve (RAYS), a civil society organisation, for remembering the poor and widows on the eve of Christmas.

He said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam where all minorities enjoyed equal rights and those trying to create any differences would fail in their nefarious designs.

Islam as well the Constitution protects minorities’ rights.

Quid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had repeatedly pronounced that Muslims are free to go to their mosques, Hindus to their temples and Christians to their churches, he added.

More than 100 widows and deserving persons were given food packages during the ceremony and RAYS representatives pledged to continue such welfare activities in the future.
