Rangers, army men attend meeting on law and order

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says it is high time to take action against all terrorists without discrimination as well as their facilitators and supporters.

He said the entire country had come together to root out terrorism and political, religious and military leadership was determined to deal with terrorists with an iron hand.

He was presiding over a meeting here on Monday which reviewed security arrangements under the current circumstances. The meeting also discussed various proposals and took some ‘important’ decisions.

According to a handout, the meeting decided to take all possible measures for strict monitoring of entry and exit points of the province as well as protection of life and property of citizens.

The chief minister issued instructions to set up joint sub-committees for ensuring close coordination among institutions.

Lahore Corps Commander Lt-Gen Naveed Zaman, Punjab Rangers Director-General Maj-Gen Khan Tahir Javed Khan, 10th Division General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Aamir Abbasi, Home Minister retired Col Shuja Khanzada, lawmakers Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Qadri, the chief secretary and others attended the meeting.
