Eight bodies found in Balochistan

QUETTA: Eight bodies, all of them bullet riddled and some with signs of torture, were found in Sanjavi and Pishin districts on Sunday, bringing to 15 the number of unidentified corpses found in northern Balochistan in three days.

On Friday, seven bullets-riddled bodies had been found in Sanjavi.

According to Levies officials, three bodies were found dumped in Baghaio area of Sanjavi on information provided by local people.

“They had been shot in the head and chest,” an official said.

Three bodies were found by Levies personnel near a checkpost in Killi Hikalzai, near Pishin, and two under a bridge in Dargai area of Khanozai in Karezat tehsil.

All the bodies were brought to the Civil Hospital here for autopsy and identification.

Hospital officials said six bodies found earlier were also there.

They said most of the victims had been shot from a close range.

Official sources said one body brought to the hospital on Friday had been identified as that of Janan, of Duki area of Sanjavi district, who had been missing for five months.

A security official said the matter was being investigated. The bodies were three or four days old and the victims appeared to be Pakhtuns.
