Five of a family die of suffocation

MARDAN: Five members of a family were killed and another fell unconscious due to suffocation caused by burning coal in the room they were sleeping in here on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

The victims working as waiters in the Toru Wedding Hall located on the Mardan-Nowshera Road were identified as Noor Zada, his brother Sher Zada, nephew Amin Khan, cousins Abdur Rahman and Malang Said. They belonged to Pathrak area of the Upper Dir district.

The other inmate, Mohammad Yousaf, was taken to the Mardan Medical Complex in unconscious condition.

Other staff of the Toru Wedding Hall told mediapersons that they broke the door of their room on Sunday morning when they didn’t open it after frequent knocks by them.

The bodies were taken to their native village after postmortem at the Mardan Medical Complex Hospital.

The officials of Shiekh Maltoon police station registered a case and began investigation.
