Compensation for the family of Peshawar tragedy victim
SHEIKHUPURA: Lahore Commissioner Rashid Langrial presented a compensation cheque worth Rs1.6 million on behalf of the government to the father of one of the children killed in the Peshawar tragedy, on Sunday.
Langrial presented a souvenir and the cheque to the father of Muhammad Tahir at Nankana Sahib.
The commissioner announced Rs15 million to build a 1km metalled road in Tahir’s village.
He also said the Government Elementary School would be renamed Tahir Shaheed Government Elementary School and the Nankana-Mananwala crossing chowk called Tahir Shaheed Chowk.
An army team consisting of 30 soldiers led by Lt-Col Khalid also participated in the ceremony on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
