Pakistan to export salt to India

LAHORE, Sept 10: Pakistan plans to shortly start exporting salt to India which has no source of rock salt, says Punjab Mines and Mineral Minister Sibtain Khan.

Presiding over a meeting of the Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (Punjmin) here on Wednesday, he said table lamps, ashtrays and decoration pieces made from salt rocks would also be exported to India.

Mr Khan directed the Punjmin to set up a stall at a trade fair being organized in India in November to promote Pakistani salt.

He said there existed a lot of potential to export salt to the neighbouring country as they were using low quality sea salt.
