Man kills two sisters ‘for honour’

DADU: Two sisters were shot dead in what appeared to be an ‘honour killing’ incident at the New Bus Stand in Dadu on Monday.

Nadia Jamali and Arbab Khatoon were shot dead alleged by their brother when they arrived at the bus stand after fleeing his home to escape death, police said.

Khatoom Jamali, the victims’ mother, told the media that Nadia Jamali had left the house of her brother, Qadir Bukhsh Jamali, to return to her parents’ home along with Arbab Khatoon, after a case of her kidnapping was lodged against a schoolteacher.

In the meantime, according to Dadu SSP Tariq Razzaq, Qadir Bukhsh Jamali spotted his sisters at the bus stand and allegedly opened fire on them.

He said Arbab Khatoon died on the spot and Nadia Jamali was rushed to a Nawabshah hospital due to her critical condition. However, she also died on the way, he added.

The SSP said that Nadia Khatoon had recently been produced in a local court where she recorded her statement that she wanted to move to her parents’ house.
