Renovated charity hospital inaugurated

TAXILA: The POF administration on Thursday inaugurated renovated female charity hospital which would cater to the female patients particularly those facing preand post-natal complications.

Izzat Ali Shah Female Hospital is running under the administrative control of POF Welfare Trust.

With renovation cost standing at Rs40.50 million, the hospital has now got a new block with two state of the art operation theaters.

It has had first and second stage labour ward, intensive care unit for newly born children, electro medical instruments, X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, major surgery, blood bank and the facility of laboratory. Former crops commander and Chief executive Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim retired Lt-Gen Mohammad Haroon Aslam inaugurated the upgraded hospital.

In his address, Director POF Welfare Trust retired Brig Taqdees Ahmed  in his welcoming remarks told that a social worker Izzat Ali Shah established this hospital in 1960 in order to provide free medical treatment to the poor of this area and after his death, this hospital was handed over to Wah Cantonment Board.

Since 2005, this hospital is being run by POF Welfare Trust.

In his address POF Chief Lt General Mohammad Ahsan Mahmood said that POF was not only contributing to the country’s defence but also took vibrant steps for the welfare of citizens.
