Haris inspires Nixor into final

KARACHI: Skipper Haris Shams excelled with a fine all-round performance to guide Nixor College through to the final of the 2nd Bilal Bhaty Memorial Inter-School T20 Cricket League here on Friday.

In the first semi-final played at the Vital Five Ground, Nixor College downed The Lyceum School with a last-ball victory by three wickets.

Batting first, The Lyceum were all out for 118 in 19.5 overs with Ramis Bukhari making 20.

Haris and fellow off-spinner Saud Shoaib claimed two wickets each.

Nixor College, in reply, reached their target of 119 for the loss of seven wickets with Haris striking six boundaries in his match-winning innings of 36 from 25 balls. Saud Shoaib contributed an unbeaten 17.

Nixor College’s opponents in the final will be decided when Oxford Academy School meet City School PAF Chapter in the second semi-final.
