Fata MNA refuses traffi c ticket

ISLAMABAD: A legislator from Fata committed a traffi c violation and refused to accpt a ticket, on Friday evening.

According to the police, an offi cial of the Islamabad Traffi c Police (ITP) spotted a speeding car after it jumped a red light on Seventh Avenue.

When the offi cial signalled the vehicle to stop, its driver sped away. However, after a brief chase the police intercepted the car.

The driver introduced himself as Shahabuddin Khan, MNA from NA-44 tribal area-IX. When the police offi cial asked for his driving licence to issue him a ticket for violating traffi c rules, he refused to produce it and even tried to leave the spot.

In the meantime, MNA from NA-54 Rawalpindi-V, Malik Ibrar Ahmed, reached the spot and asked Mr Khan to accept the ticket if he had violated traffi c rules.

However, Mr Khan did not budge, forcing Mr Ahmed to pay the Rs500 fi ne on behalf of the Fata MNA.
