Twenty injured after ball bomb attack on stall in Karachi

KARACHI: Twenty people, including women and children, were injured after two ball bombs were hurled at a haleem stall in Orangi town, DawnNews reported.

The haleem stall was targeted by unknown men on a motorcycle who threw the bombs at the stand. Fear spread in the neighborhood soon after the attack.

Police and Rangers reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the area.

The injured have been taken to Abbasi Hospital where they are being treated for their wounds.

The cooking of haleem is a tradition during the month of Muharram and is given to mourners observing the holy month.

It may be mentioned that security has been beefed up across the country including Karachi in a bid to thwart terror attacks during Muharram.
