Call for 8th Wage Board meeting

KARACHI: A faction of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) headed by Rana Azeem has urged the government to initiate proceedings of the Eighth Wage Board and announce interim relief with immediate effect because inflation and stagnant wages have made lives of journalists miserable.

Mr Azeem and secretary general Amin Yousuf said that major newspaper establishments had even denied annual increments, promotions and special increments.

They said the PFUJ would devise its future line of action if the Eighth Wage Board judge did not initiate proceedings within one month.
