Two coaches of stationary train gutted in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Two passenger coaches were gutted when a fire broke out in a stationary train at the Hyderabad junction on Friday morning.

Fire brigade personnel struggled for about two hours to put out the fire and managed to save two other coaches of the train from catching fire.

Hyderabad Station Master Islamuddin Shaikh told the media that the fire broke out in one of the four coaches at 8:10am and fire brigade was called out immediately. He said it would be too early to say anything about the cause of the fire.

He said the four coaches were generally attached to different trains on the occasion of religious congregations like Raiwind Ijtema and Sikh Yatra to handle extra load of passengers.

No train service was affected due to the incident, he added.
