Minister inaugurates grid station in Swat

MINGORA: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Friday inaugurated a 132KV grid station here at Madyan, which would be constructed in 18 months at a cost of Rs320 million.

Speaking at the ceremony on the occasion, Mr Ali said that soon another 220KV grid station would be set up in Swat to resolve the issue of loadshedding in the area.

He said that the federal government was taking steps to resolve the public issues, besides launching various hydel projects in the country. “We are quite hopeful that we will be able to overcome the energy crisis in near future,” he claimed. He also said that cheap electricity would be provided to consumers after three years.

Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf policies, the federal state minister said that the sit-in in Islamabad was aimed to weaken the country economically. He said that the PTI had failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sher Ali said that Imran Khan had been presenting a wrong picture of KP in TV channels, adding that in fact the people of the province had been suffering a lot since the PTI-led government took over.

He said that there was no reality in PTI’s slogan of change.

Adviser to the prime minister Engineer Ameer Muqam, PML-N leader Dr Ibadullah and local elders also spoke on the occasion.
