Sports Stadium being refused to PAT

SARGODHA: The district administration is not inclined to allow the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to hold its rally in the Sports Stadium on Dec 5.

The reluctance is mainly because of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) rally on Oct 17 which left a portion of the stadium damaged and the PTI has yet to get it repaired.

Dawn learned the administration suggested some other venues to the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leadership ensuring full security to them.

PAT leaders said if they were not allowed to hold rally at the Sports Stadium, their next

preferred venue would be University Road which links the city with Lahore and Faisalabad.

The road is home to several commercial shopping centers and the university.
