Militant leader killed in Bara clash

LANDI KOTAL: An important militant leader was killed in a clash between troops and members of the proscribed Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) on Thursday, officials of the political administration said.

They said that an army man was injured when LI militants attacked some security personnel near Aziz market in Akkakhel area.

Two more soldiers were injured in a blast when security personnel were checking suspected people on a road.

The injured soldiers were identified as sepoys Malik­zada and Nasrullah.

In Sial Khan Kaly area, two non-combatants were killed by the firing of security forces. The men, one of them mentally retarded, were venturing out of their homes during curfew.
