DERA GHAZI KHAN: Seven robbers on Thursday looted a private bank situated in the hub of the city.

A bank guard sustained a head injury when one of the suspects hit him with a gun to overpower him.

Reports said the robbers entered the block-10 branch of KASB Bank and held staff and customers hostage at gunpoint.

According to District Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Maikin, the suspects took away a cash of Rs629,000.

Customer Mian Ayub, who was robbed of Rs200,000 and a cell phone, said the suspects were not wearing masks.

The DPO said the robbers also took away record of bank’s CCTV.

He said police had already pointed out flaws in security and sent two notices under Shops and Security Act, but the bank administration did not pay heed to it.

He said the suspects fled on foot in the crowded bazaar.
