Police clueless about missing girls

SAHIWAL: Police could not find a clue to the two missing students of Government Girls Model Pilot Secondary School despite a lapse of 36 hours.

Fateh Sher SHO Abid Bhullar said police had registered two cases under Section 365-B against school’s sports teacher. The teacher was booked on two complaints filed by ‘Ah’, father of a missing girl and ‘Bs’, mother of the other girl.

DPO Syed Khurram Ali told the media that the police would hopefully resolve the issue soon.

Sources told this correspondent that the team headed by investigation SP Riffat Hyder Bokhari was interrogating three men who were tracked through mobile phone data of the girls.

They said no concrete evidence was gathered about girls’ whereabouts. The three suspects were arrested from Sahiwal, Noor Shah and Harrapa. During interrogation it was learnt the suspects ‘just developed friendship’ with the girls in exchange for different mobile packages.

According to eyewitness, the school atmosphere remained tense as girls were not allowed to sit on lawns while police deployed two buses at the school gate for security.

Education EDO Muhammad Amin told Dawn that police did not find any concrete evidence against any of school teachers. However, police received complaints against the sports teacher who was booked, he said.
