Ajmal gets another two weeks of Saqlain help

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's suspended offspinner Saeed Ajmal will work out for another two weeks with Saqlain Mushtaq before his bowling action is tested at an ICC-approved laboratory in England.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said its cricket committee decided on Wednesday to give more time to Ajmal to correct his bowling action under the supervision of former test offspinner Saqlain at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) suspended Ajmal last month after his bowling action was found to be illegal during the testing at a laboratory in Brisbane, Australia.

Shakil Shaikh, chairman of PCB's cricket committee, said that there's a “significant improvement” in Ajmal's bowling action after it was tested at the NCA.

He also said that after Ajmal's additional two weeks of rehabilitation, the offspinner will be tested at the state of the art laboratory in England.
