Hamza, Sajjad reach last 16

KARACHI: Pakistan cueists Hamza Akbar and Mohammad Sajjad have qualified for the last-16 round after registering three straight victories at the first Qatar Academy 6-Red Snooker Championship in Doha.

According to a message received here on Monday, former national champion Hamza won his matches against Alvin Barbero of the Philippines, Ali Al Obaidly of Qatar and Mongolia’s Ukhagvasuren Tumurchudur.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s ace cueman Sajjad after dropping three frames against Qatar’s Taher Hussain, won his matches against Yemen’s Ahmaed Al Saloomi and Kamal Chawla of India rivals, both by a commanding 5-0 margin.
