AFTER Salmaan Taseer’s assassination, this is the second incident in which a constable of the Punjab Police Elite Force opened fire in Adiala Jail, as a result of which one prisoner accused of blasphemy was shot.

How did the constable manage to bring arms and other prohibited objects within the premises of the jail?

Anyway, it is more important now to prevent such incidents in future. The Punjab government should act promptly and rescan its Elite force. All those whose thought process is doubted in any way should be dismissed from service immediately. There is no place for fundamentalists or extremists.
