Seven traders die in truck-trailer collision

MULTAN: At least seven people were killed and six injured when a mini-truck collided with a trailer near Adda Pul 25, Kabirwala in Khanewal district.

Police said driver of the mini-truck was over-speeding and it collided with a trailer coming from the opposite direction, in an attempt to save a bull cart. Both vehicles were severely damaged.

Those killed were all cattle traders en route to the cattle market here from Gujrat. They were identified as Jamshed Sharif, Javed Sharif, Munir Ahmed, Amar Sajjad, Riaz Ahmed, Kamran Alyas and Muddasir.

Locals, police and rescue teams reached the accident site and shifted three of the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Shorkot and three seriously injured, including Ahsanullah, Mazhar and Ilyas, to Nishtar Hospital.
