Qadri may join opposition

LAHORE, Aug 31: Pakistan Awami Tehrik chief Tahirul Qadri says he may join hands with the opposition in its struggle for real democracy and political stability.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, he however added that his party would like to maintain its independent identity in such a situation.

He said that all political parties should unite for supremacy of the Constitution.

APP ADDS: The PAT chief announced the appointment of former provincial minister and PPP activist Rana Iqbal Ahmed Khan as the chief organizer of the party.

Social activist Maj Ahmed Husain Goraya (retired) and Dr Idrees also joined the party.

Speaking on the occasion, the three newcomers said the PAT was working on the same programme that the late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had announced in 1970. —Staff Reporter
