Army’s consignment for the flood-hit

LAHORE: A fresh consignment of 62 tons of relief items was dispatched to different areas from the Army Relief Camp at Fortress Stadium on Tuesday, says an ISPR press release.

The consignment includes 10,000 kilo flour, 1,200kg rice, 1,500kg cooking oil, 2,500kg sugar, 1,600kg powder milk, 3,558 bottles of drinking water and 6,000 tents.

A cheque of Rs100,000 was presented by Net Revelation Technologies and relief goods including two ton medicines were donated by Maheen Taseer, daughter-in-law of former governor Salman Taseer.

The Pakistan Army has so far dispatched 111 trucks loaded with 736 tons of relief items.

The flood relief camps have been set up at Fortress Stadium (Lahore Cantt), Qadhafi Stadium, Masjid Chowk of DHA’s Phase 1, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Chunian.
