JI worker, teacher gunned down

KARACHI: An activist of the Jamaat-i-Islami was shot dead and another was injured in a targeted attack in New Karachi area on Tuesday night.

According to police, men on a motorcycle opened fire on a restaurant, injuring Kamran Rasheed, 32, a vendor selling burgers, and Naveed Khan, 38, the owner. They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Kamran died. The victim was a worker of the JI and it appeared to be a case of targeted killing case, Bilal Colony SHO Shaukat Awan said.

In another incident, in North Nazimabad, a former school teacher was gunned down in an attack on his car. According to Hyderi Market police, Anees Anwar, 55, was also shot dead by men on a motorcycle near Saifee College.
