Two policemen arrested over involvement in robberies

SWABI: Two policemen were arrested on Monday for their alleged involvement in several robbery incidents in Razaar tehsil.

Sources told Dawn that the policemen were identified as Ebad and Waseem Abbas, both belonging to Kalu Khan area.

They said that the former was performing duty at the residence of DIG Mardan, while the latter in Swabi Judicial Complex.

The sources said that three persons had registered case in Kalu Khan police station against robbers for depriving them of money at gun point a few days back.

They said that third policeman was identified as Yasir, also from Kalu Khan, who had been absconding, and would be arrested soon.

TRADER KILLED: Unidentified attackers shot dead a trader in his house in Tordher village during the previous night.

Said Qasim Shah advocate, brother of the deceased, Said Yahya Shah, registered FIR in Tordher police station, stating that some unidentified attackers forced their way into their house and opened fire over his brother, killing him on the spot.

He said that they had no enmity with anyone.

INDUSTRIALISTS’ MEETING: Names of the executive body members of the newly established forum of the Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate were announced on Monday.

The members were announced at a meeting of the Gadoon Industrial Association chaired by Zahid Shinwari.

They executive body members are: Fida Mohammad, Zahid Jadoon, Gohar Ali, Mohammad Raheem, Samiullah Khan, Nasir Khan, Qamar Khan, Said Arab Khan, Zulfiqar, Sajid Shinwari, Anwar Zada, Fazal Raheem, Noorul Hasan, Fazli Subhan Khan, Mohammad Zahid Shah, Major (retd) Riaz and Mohammad Tariq.

The meeting decided to name the general body members on Thursday.

“We would put our heads together to work for Gadoon entrepreneurs’ rights as they have suffered due to location disadvantage,” said Zahid Shinwari.
