Telenor expanding 3G to 32 cities

KARACHI: Telenor Pakistan has announced to expand its 3G footprint to 32 cities by the end of this month, said a press release on Monday.

During the fourth phase of rollout, the company is launching its 3G services in 13 more cities: Attock, Bahawalpur, Bannu, DI Khan, Jhelum, Kohat, Mardan, Muzaffagarh, Okara, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Wah and Taxila.

USAID workshop on mobile money services

ISLAMABAD: The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has organised a workshop for stakeholders in the mobile financial services industry to analyse and strategise expansion mechanisms, said a press release.

The workshop assisted its participants including commercial banks, mobile network operators, microfinance banks, the State Bank and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in analysing the gaps in the industry, service delivery through agents and shops, and growth of mobile money products across Pakistan.
