Fire at Wapda workshop

LAHORE: A Wapda workshop dealing with transformers in Sukh Nehar Baghbanpura caught fire on Sunday, leaving dozens of transformers, accessories and a quantity of oil lying in drums burnt.

Firefighters of Rescue 1122 and City Fire Brigade doused the flames after two-hour hectic efforts.

Rescue 1122 said the incident took place at Old Grid Station Sukh Nehar around 6:30pm and the blaze was reported in some oil material.

They said the cause of fire was not immediately known.

Lahore District Coordination Officer Muhammad Usman also reached the spot to determine cause of fire and supervise rescue work.
