Recurring floods

AFTER every two or three years, we witness a horrific flood. These devastating floods cull hundreds, leave thousands homeless and at the mercy of a distraught government.

A responsible regime would have acknowledged this recurring crisis and built dams in the potential flood-affected areas. This same act of God could have been harnessed into energy-building fodder that could help feed our deficient power sources. But alas! while the flood victims sleep without food, clothing and a roof over their heads, our self- proclaimed ‘revolutionists’ have not only turned the capital into a playground for their supporters but have lodged themselves as a constant obstruction in the path of the government in performing its duties.
