Three Pakistani soldiers die in mud-sliding along LoC: army

ISLAMABAD: At least three Pakistani army personnel died and three others were injured early on Thursday due to mud-sliding in the Kailer sector near Bagh on the line of control (LoC).

A spokesman for the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) told Dawn that the injured were shifted to a nearby military hospital where they are currently under treatment.

The soldiers were on a routine patrol along the LoC, a de facto border that divides the Kashmir region between Indian and Pakistani administered sectors.

The incident came days after Pakistan and India engaged in their latest skirmish along the Working Boundary and over two years after the army saw its worst accident with an avalanche leading to the deaths of 140 soldiers in the Gayari sector of Siachen.
