Woman hacked to death in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The body of a woman, who was hacked to death with a sharp knife, was found in Dhodial area on Sunday night.

The victim, Qudra-tun-Nisa, 55, had gone to meet her relatives on the morning of Sunday but she didn’t return home. Later, her body was found at a deserted place in Murgzar area.

The body was taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to family.

Investigation officer in the case said that all angles related to the murder would be investigated to reach the culprits.

The Shinkiari police registered the case and began efforts to apprehend the culprits.

In another incident, an aged man died after falling from a mountain in Dadar area. Local people pulled the body of the victim identified as Abdul Manan. He had gone to the mountains for cutting grass for animals.

The police registered case and began investigation.

Meanwhile, upper parts of Hazara on Monday received heavy rain which caused traffic jam at Karakoram Highway in Mansehra after floodwater submerged the road. The KKH was flooded because of the choked sewerage lines along the road.

The rain started late on Sunday night and continued intermittently on Monday in Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan and Torghar districts.

The rain flooded watercourses and streams, causing damage to mud houses in Battagram and Kohistan districts. However, no loss of life was reported from any part of part the region.
