Late Ismail Jaffer CC enter final

KARACHI: Fine half centuries from Khurram Shahzad and Faizan Khan inspired Late Ismail Jaffer CC into the final of the KCCA Zone VI ‘B’ Division League Cricket Tournament with a 31-run win over Qasba Sports here on Sunday.

Batting first in the second semi-final at the Afza Cricket Ground in North Karachi, Late Ismail Jaffer CC made 209 all out in 34 overs with Khurram scoring 74 (seven boundaries) and Faizan 51 (eight fours).

Off-spinner Bilal-ur-Rehman took five for 31.

Qasba Sports, in reply were dismissed for 178 despite good contributions from Zaheer Ahmed (54) and Mohammad Awais (51).

Off-spinner Adnan Khattak (4-35) and slow left-armer Usman Khan (3-19) shared the bowling honours.

Late Ismail Jaffer CC’s opponents in the final will be Sakhi Hasan Gymkhana, winners of first semi-final against Orangi Star CC in the first semi-final.
