CM condemns attack on state institutions

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says the attack on state institutions like parliament and Prime Minister's House in Islamabad can be termed the blackest day in the political history of the country.

Talking to assembly members here on Sunday, he said some so-called political leaders attacked the buildings and highest institutions of the country by violating law and the Constitution, which was highly condemnable.

He praised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for showing sagacity to save the country from a major tragedy. He believed that after the step, Imran Khan had lost sympathies of a majority of his supporters.

He alleged that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri wanted to turn the country into a battlefield but the people smelt their intentions and rejected the move. He appealed to PML-N workers, supporters and voters to show restraint despite provocations.

MEDIA: The chief minister expressed sorrow over violence of police against journalists in Islamabad.

Condemning the incident, he said an inquiry should be conducted and action be taken against those responsible.
