KARACHI: The district administration during a campaign against profiteering over the past 30 days challaned 1,631 shopkeepers and impo-sed a total fine of Rs2,392,800 in different areas of the city.

The commissioner of Kara-chi said this in a statement issued here on Sunday and added that 30 profiteers were sent to jail during this period.

He said that the administration was making efforts to provide relief to consumers.
