Unending entertainment

FOR the past few days, the main source of entertainment is the sit-in that has been going on for more than 14 days in Islamabad. These days the two performers in Islamabad have more viewers than all prime time shows of the country put together.

I appreciate our news channels for providing us with news about the stand-off and the talk shows about what can, may and should happen in this clash of egos and can’t-get-along personalities. This is, however, saying a lot, as being a woman, I prefer my television shows. Unfortunately, this is no laughing matter.

If some people are aggrieved and are protesting, it is their right to demand justice and it is the government’s duty to end the matter through negotiations and political give-and-take.

The government should resolve the matter on priority so that people can heave a sigh of relief and get back with their lives.

WHAT a shame that today when we look for entertainment on TV channels, we find it on those channels that are giving us talks on politics!
