Man, woman killed for ‘honour’ in Swat

MINGORA: A man and woman were killed allegedly in an honor-related case in far-flung Ashari Matta area of Swat on Saturday.

Sources said that the man and woman, residents of Madyat Ashari, were killed at Merami area for their alleged illicit relations. They said that the bodies were found in a garden.

The sources said that husband of the woman, who had six children, was working in Saudi Arabia.

Police registered the case and have started investigation.

TRAFFIC JAMS: Taking notice of heavy traffic jams on Mingora-Saidu Sharif road, commissioner Malakand division has asked the district administration to chalk out a comprehensive plan for ensuring smooth traffic flow on the busy road of the district.

Commissioner Mohammad Afsar said in a written order that the police and district administration should jointly start an anti-encroachment drive against commercial plazas on Mingora–Saidu road. He asked the deputy commissioner to chalk out a plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the busiest road of the district, where major hospitals of the district were situated.

DENGUE CASES: Three more residents of Swat tested positive for dengue fever on Saturday, taking the number of dengue-affected patients to 118 during the current season in the district.

According to sources, two persons were tested positive at Said Group of Teaching Hospital and one at tehsil headquarters hospital, Matta. Sources said that currently four patients were under treatment at the two hospitals.
