QUETTA: Security forces took some suspects into custody for interrogation during an operation launched in Ziarat Dan area of Awaran on Friday after Thursday’s attack on a place of worship of Zikri community. Six people were killed and eight injured in the incident.

Official sources said that four armed men on two motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on the Zikri worshippers.

Security forces and administration officials took the injured and bodies to District Hospital Awaran.

“Most of the deceased suffered multiple bullet injuries which caused their instant death,” an official quoted hospital sources as saying. He said at least two injured were in critical condition.
