Help sought from law officers on uplift funds

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday sought assistance from the attorney general and the Punjab advocate general office on a petition filed against the funds being given to parliamentarians.

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah directed the law officers to seek instructions from the respective governments and appeared on Nov 19.

Advocate Abdul Qayyum Khan of Narowal filed the petition alleging that parliamentarians were devouring 16 per cent commission amount on development schemes. He prayed that respondents be directed to restrain from illegally granting any development funds to members of parliament and the Punjab Assembly.
