Baloch poet Mulla passes away

QUETTA: Prominent poet of Balochi language Ghulam Rasool Mulla, known as G.R Mulla, passed away on Tuesday. He was 75.

Mulla was known for his nationalistic and revolutionary poetry.

He commanded respect among people of Balochistan, Gulf states and parts of Iranian Baluchestan.

Mulla was a close aide to former Governor of Balochistan Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo and a founder member of the National Awami Party, National Democratic Party and Pakistan National Party.

Later, he had joined the Balochistan National Party led by Sardar Akhtar Mengal.

He was author of many books, including Bramsh, Gal Gal, Sanj and Chehal which were popular in all parts of Balochistan.

He was also the co-author of the Balochi dictionary.
