Quetta lawyers observe strike in protest against Islamabad sit-in

QUETTA: Lawyers on Thursday boycotted courts in protest against the demands of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek.

In response to a call of the Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar Association, lawyers did not attend case hearings in any of the courts.

The Balochistan Bar Association described as unconstitutional the demands of PTI and PAT seeking resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and dissolution of national and provincial assemblies.

Thousands of supporters of Imran Khan-led PTI and Dr Tahirul Qadri’s PAT have been staging sit-ins in Islamabad for almost a week now to press for the ouster of the Sharif’s government.
