‘Non-branding costing millions of dollars’

KARACHI: Pakistan is losing millions of dollars on account of non-appropriated prices in the international market because of non-branding and non-registration of many products, said Zakaria Usman, president of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Thursday.

In a meeting of FPCCI Standing Committee on anti-fake products and intellectual property rights (IPR), Usman said that registration and brand recognition are widely important in the international customs during customs clearance. “We should take help from the developed countries for branding our products so that we can be able to get a good price of our products.”

Director General IPR in Federal Board of Revenue Ms Roubina said the board was establishing an IPR cell for which it was seeking suggestions from stakeholders.
