Robbers thrash, rob three cops at picket

LAHORE: Robbers thrashed and robbed three policemen who were standing guard at a picket near Ittefaq Hospital in early hours of Tuesday.

Besides, citizens were deprived of cash and valuables all worth Rs1.4 in four other hits in the provincial capital.

Three policemen, identified as Mamoon Ada, Imran Ashraf and Kashif Ali, were present at a picket near Ittefaq Hospital in the Liaqatabad police area when they signaled two motorcyclists to stop for checking.

The four persons, riding the motorcycles, started firing into the air and held the policemen hostage. The suspects gave the policemen a sound thrashing and took cash and mobile phones from them besides snatching the official pistol of constable Kashif before fleeing. A case was registered on the complaint of constable Mamoon.

Three robbers barged into the house of Ismael in A-Block, Bahria Town, in Sundar police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.


Rs1.4m taken away in four other hits


Two robbers approached Yaqoob Qureshi and his family on Fasih Road, Lytton Road area, and robbed them of cash and valuables worth Rs300,000.

Two robbers waylaid Waqas Umer and his family at Wapda Town in Sattukatla police limits and deprived them of cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.

Three robbers entered the shop of Abdu Azeem in the Shalimar police area and took away Rs15,000, calling cards and a mobile phone.
